Dr. Angela Ahuja Malik is a Mississippi native who graduated Magna Cum Laude from Millsaps College with a Bachelor of Science degree. She then attended the University of Mississippi School of Medicine and completed her pediatrics residency there in 2004. Dr. Malik served as Chief Resident of Pediatrics after completing her residency at UMMC. During this time she served on faculty as associate professor of pediatrics where she was involved in teaching medical students and residents. She was an attending physician of general pediatrics and the neonatal intensive care unit. She completed her fellowship in asthma, allergy, and immunology at National Jewish Health in Denver, CO, in 2007. National Jewish Health has been ranked the #1 respiratory hospital in the U.S. for the last 13 years since 1998.
Dr. Malik is a published author in the field of atopic dermatitis as well as written for textbooks in Childhood Development and the Immune System. She was involved in research for steroid resistant asthma therapy while completing her training in Denver. Dr. Malik is a member of American Academy of Allergy and Immunology, American College of Allergy and Immunology and the Massachusetts Medical Society. Dr. Malik is board certified in Pediatrics and in Adult and Pediatric Allergy and Immunology. She joined Allergy & Asthma Specialists, PC, in 2007 after completing her fellowship program. She enjoys treating patients of all ages and finds this very rewarding. Dr. Malik has a young son who has chronic eczema and multiple food allergies. She is well aware of the challenges of having a child with these conditions. When treating her patients, especially children, she not only treats them from a perspective of a physician but also from the perspective of a mother of a child with allergic disease.
Her personal interests include running and cooking. Dr. Malik enjoys participating in half- marathons. She ran for "Team in Training", raising money for research and the awareness of Lymphoma and Leukemia.
